Bridal Shop’s New Dress Line Supports Human Trafficking Rehab Efforts
To mark its 6th anniversary of local business, Something New Boutique Bridal & Formalwear is launching its own line of bridal gowns that does not only help brides look beautiful for their big day—the line will also give back to support rehabilitation efforts for human trafficking victims in Cambodia through Sak Saum. Mindi Linscombe—owner of Something New Boutique and Colorado’s Wedding Dress Expert—is proud to announce the release of the boutique’s new line called “Divina” through an open to the public fashion show and $1,000 Anniversary Give Away event at The Club at Flying Horse on Friday, January 3rd. The evening begins at 5:30pm with giveaways for brides from various local vendors and will culminate with the 7pm fashion show and $1,000 giveaway to one lucky bride! Tickets to the event are free and can be picked up at Something New Boutique at 11550 Ridgeline Drive Unit 114 in northern Colorado Springs.
From day one, Something New Boutique has adhered to a “people matter” approach as a bridal shop “Where the Girl comes before the Dress!”. After working with thousands of local and nationwide customers since 2008, Mindi Linscombe has learned what brides want in particular designs and looks for their wedding. Linscombe personally designed and had direct input with suppliers to create outstanding gowns in the Divina line. The name “Divina” is inspired by the company’s belief that there is divine beauty in each bride they serve and in the women and men involved in Sak Saum. Sak Saum works to rescue, restore, transform, and rehabilitate the lives of vulnerable and exploited people. Something New Boutique is excited to partner with Sak Saum as the organization has local impact through its office and retail “Freedom Center” in Colorado Springs (5040 Corporate Plaza Dr. Suite 7) and international impact on individuals in Cambodia.
In order to give brides more opportunities for unique, stunning gowns and more chances to give back, Mindi Linscombe also selected some additional styles from a manufacturer that will be exclusive to the Divina line–expanding the collection to even more styles. According to Linscombe, “Within Divina, brides will find a wonderful balance of classic, simple looks; high-low skirt designs; destination gown options; and even a daring yet elegant long sleeve throw back look. The line pulls from my personal experience in being a Colorado Springs bride, working with so many wonderful brides at Something New Boutique, and carefully listening to what brides of various ages and body types want for their big day!”
In spite of starting in a turbulent 2008 economic season, Something New Boutique has tripled in both business growth and in retail store size since it opened its doors. Mindi & husband Jordan Linscombe started the company after her own bridal shopping experience because she, “wanted a place where brides feel valued and can get a high quality gown that lines up with what they have been dreaming of for their big day”. Giving back both locally and abroad has been a part of the business plan and the Linscombes are excited to see that further expand through the launch of Divina on January 3rd.
